The only reason I'm reading this is because my name is in it. Now Lise is probably going to be the next fad name. Although it turns out the main character's name is Lisa and Lisey is just a nickname.
Quite simply this man is an awful writer and I have no idea why he is so popular. The book started 75 pages too early and ended 75 pages too late. It was repetative and for the most part very boring. It took me nearly 2 months to get through it. The only thing that made it bearable was I played a game where I counted how many name brands were dropped. I lost interest in the game at 57, about three quarters of the way through the book. Pathetic.
First Sentence: To the public eye, the spouses of well-known writers are all but invisible, and no one knew it better than Lisey Landon.
Last Sentence: Then it was silent.
